We Are an outdoor learning community for young people guided by the principles of consent, self-direction and nature led learning.
Our Guiding Principles
We envision a vibrant, consent-based culture where children and young people are free to express their individuality, direct their own learning and enjoy a profound connection with the natural world.
Through our holistic, nature-led learning programme, we respect the rights of children to play freely outside, support their emotional wellbeing and social development and inspire environmental responsibility for the planet which supports us.
Our sessions are guided by three core principles: Consent, Self-Direction and Nature-led Learning.

Consent
Understanding your own agency and autonomy, and the freedom and boundaries that come with that. Being able to say an authentic yes, no or maybe, and respecting the boundaries and consent of others and the natural world.

Self Direction (Play)
To freely follow your interests and curiosities to explore the world in a way that brings you meaning and purpose. Children’s natural way of doing this is also known as play!

Nature Led
Directed by your own nature and nature itself. Knowing one’s self, knowing your nature and our place in the wider ecology - how we relate to, connect with and are part of nature. Nature as teacher.
What Does This Look Like In Practice?
Nature-led + Consent
Where we come into reciprocal relationship with nature, giving not always taking, understanding our role in the wider ecosystem. Being stewards of the land.
Self-direction + Nature-led
Where the boundaries between ourselves and the natural world are softened, where we become deeply grounded and connected to the living world.
Consent + Self-direction
Where we authentically meet others and community is formed. This process is facilitated by our meetings at the start and end of the day.
Nature-led + Consent + Self-direction
At the heart, where the guiding principles come together, an intentional culture is brought to life.
